Cook Up Recipe: Pumpkin Grits

In my family, we make all kinds of grits with fruit, cheese, or seafood. Whatever your particular taste, we’ve got a grits recipe for you. We cherish this particular one because we use fresh pumpkin or squash paired with sage and shallots. My granny came up with this recipe after having pumpkin left over from pie making. Grandma, you so genius. I made this dish for author Inga Muscio after she told me she was sure she didn’t like grits. One serving later, she was loving it so much that she couldn’t find the words. Just one more believer made. I hope this recipe can make you a believer, too.

Dante Fried Chicken + HVW8, Snoop Dogg & Dam Funk

HVW8 and Adidas gave us the heads up on a private event in their backyard with Snoop Dogg and the trunk funk don, Dam Funk. This would be the first time the two had met, potentially creating a vortex in the time funk continuum. We packed up the truck and headed over to a crowd of about 100 people who got to witness the legendary moment. Dante served up Sock-it-to-me Fried Chicken and Tofu, Roasted Paprika Corn Mac Up and Coconut Honey Biscuits.

Dante Fried Chicken X The Supper Club Los Angeles

Transatlantic socialite and gracious host, Tamsin Lonsdale, invites Dante Fried Chicken to cook ^UP^ The Supper Club’s Holiday Dinner party. We took her to Playhouse where they shut it down just for us, and built in a pop up dining space. Dante served peas and endives, spiced ginger corn muffins, truffle curry mac ^UP^, tomatillo collard greens, cucumber corn and ginger salad.

Dante Fried Chicken + Mad Decent

The Mad Decent family gets together every year for the infamous Mad Decent Block Party in New York, Philly and Los Angeles. They invited us down to park the truck front and center during the sets from Mad Decent artists. Dante served up the Sock-it-to-Me Fried Chicken and Tofu, Roasted Paprika Corn Mac Up, Coconut Honey Biscuits and Creme Fresh Mango Slaw.
